CHAPTER X 240 · Grooved frames The panels are inserted into the grooved mouldings of the frame, as in St Barbara , Portrait of Margaret van Eyck , the Vera Effigies (fig. 121), the Ghent altarpieces and the Virgin and Child with Canon Joris van der Paele (fig. 122).
