De Zijlpoort of Westpoort was het sterkste onderdeel van de Haarlemse wallen. Reeds voor 1420 stond op deze plaats een poort; in 1628 werd ze herbouwd naar ontwerp van schilder-bouwmeester Simon de Bray. Deze werd in 1824 gesloopt.
