De Hoofdtoren werd in 1531 gebouwd als verdedigingstoren. In 1651 werd de klokkentoren erop geplaatst. Op dit ogenblik huisvest hij een restaurant. De (volledig houten) aanlegsteiger "het Houten Hoofd" dateert van 1464.
