De orde vestigde zich te Leuven ca. 1236; de gemeenschap ontwikkelde zich spoedig tot de belangrijkste van ons land; van einde XVIe eeuw af werd er het studiehuis van de orde geopend en even later, in 1612, een humanioracollege; na de opheffing tijdens de omwenteling werd het klooster in 1798 aan verscheidene particulieren verkocht.
