L’iconographie de cette affiche fait probablement référence à une course automobile organisée en 1902 par l’Automobile Club de France et reliant Paris à Vienne. La course fût remportée par le français Marcel Renault (1872-1903), cofondateur en 1899 de la Société Renault Frères, l’actuel groupe Renault, constructeur automobile.
