De Marekerk te Leiden -een achthoekige centraalbouw- werd gebouwd naar een ontwerp van stadsarchitect Arent van 's-Gravesande (1639) en voltooid in 1649. Het is het eerste kerkgebouw in Holland dat speciaal voor de protestantse dienst werd gebouwd.
